About
Born in Ghent, I developed a passion for art at an early age. After my education at the Academy of Fine Arts, I now study Painting at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK), where I am in my second bachelor year. My work explores the boundaries between figuration and abstraction.
My art is created without a fixed message and leaves room for interpretation. I play with boundaries and ask questions such as: when is a work truly finished? Layers of colour are built up, wiped away and reworked until shapes appear. Abstraction stimulates the imagination, while figurative elements and a theatrical atmosphere provide direction. Themes such as transience and mystery subtly slumber. Your interpretation completes the work.
